Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google or GitHub, Supabase Auth provides us with basic account information such as your email address, display name, avatar URL, provider identifier, and authentication session tokens.

As you use VizLearn, we store application data such as lesson progress, bookmarks, saved lesson inputs, language preference, and interface settings — in your browser, and in our database when you are signed in — so your learning experience stays consistent across sessions and devices.

If you send feedback through the in-app feedback tool, we collect the message you write and, only when you choose to attach one, a screenshot of the page. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in feedback messages or screenshots.

Like most web applications, VizLearn may process technical data such as browser type, device characteristics, request logs kept by our hosting provider, cookies, and local-storage values used for sessions, security, and preference persistence.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect solely to operate, maintain, secure, and improve VizLearn. Specifically:

Authenticate your identity and maintain your signed-in session.
Save and restore your learning progress and preferences across devices.
Diagnose technical issues, monitor for abuse, and protect the service.
Respond to support requests, feedback, or inquiries.

Sharing & Third-Party Processors

VizLearn relies on trusted service providers to operate. Supabase handles authentication and stores your signed-in account data. Cloudflare hosts the application and runs the serverless functions and storage behind features such as feedback. Google and GitHub process sign-in information when you choose to authenticate through their OAuth providers.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of VizLearn, our users, or the public.

Cookies & Local Storage

VizLearn uses browser local storage for essential functions — keeping you signed in, remembering your language selection, and saving your bookmarks, saved inputs, and interface preferences. A single cookie remembers whether the navigation sidebar is open or collapsed.

We do not use tracking cookies for advertising. Clearing your browser storage may sign you out and reset locally-stored preferences.

Data Retention & Your Choices

We retain account and application data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, unless earlier deletion is required by law or requested by you.

You can sign out at any time from within the application. To request account deletion, data export, or to exercise any other data rights available under applicable law, contact us at [email protected].

Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

VizLearn is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required by applicable local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International Users

VizLearn is operated from and data may be processed in various jurisdictions. By using the service, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
