Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google or GitHub, Supabase Auth provides us with basic account information such as your email address, display name, avatar URL, provider identifier, and authentication session tokens.

As you use VizLearn, we store application data such as lesson progress, bookmarks, saved lesson inputs, language preference, and interface settings — in your browser, and, if you have Lifetime, in our database so your progress, bookmarks, and saved inputs sync across your devices.

If you buy the VizLearn Lifetime unlock, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment card details — Stripe handles them directly. We keep a limited billing record linked to your account, such as your Stripe customer identifier, price identifier, billing status, and relevant timestamps. We use this record to prevent duplicate charges, restore your entitlement, and provide the paid features attached to your account.

Feedback is submitted through public GitHub Issues. Your issue text, attachments, and GitHub profile are visible to other visitors and handled by GitHub. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in feedback messages or screenshots. For account, billing, or private support, email [email protected].

Like most web applications, VizLearn may process technical data such as browser type, device characteristics, request logs kept by our hosting provider, cookies, and local-storage values used for sessions, security, and preference persistence.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect solely to operate, maintain, secure, and improve VizLearn. Specifically:

• Authenticate your identity and maintain your signed-in session.
• Save your learning progress and preferences, and sync your progress across devices for Lifetime accounts.
• Process your purchase and provide the paid features it includes.
• Prevent duplicate purchases and respond to billing or entitlement inquiries.
• Diagnose technical issues, monitor for abuse, and protect the service.
• Respond to support requests, feedback, or inquiries.

Sharing & Third-Party Processors

VizLearn relies on trusted service providers to operate. Supabase handles authentication and stores your signed-in account data. Cloudflare hosts the application and runs its serverless functions. Google and GitHub process sign-in information when you choose to authenticate through their OAuth providers. GitHub also hosts the public issues used for feedback. Stripe processes payments if you buy the Lifetime unlock, receiving the billing information you enter at checkout.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of VizLearn, our users, or the public.

Cookies & Local Storage

VizLearn uses browser local storage for essential functions — keeping you signed in, remembering your language selection, and saving your bookmarks, saved inputs, and interface preferences. A single cookie remembers whether the navigation sidebar is open or collapsed.

We do not use tracking cookies for advertising. Clearing your browser storage may sign you out and reset locally-stored preferences.

Data Retention & Your Choices

We retain account and application data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, unless earlier deletion is required by law or requested by you. Billing and transaction records may be retained after account deletion when needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, chargeback handling, dispute resolution, or other legal obligations. Public feedback and its attachments are hosted on GitHub; requests about feedback can be sent to [email protected].

You can sign out at any time from within the application. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. To exercise a right or ask a privacy question, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

VizLearn is not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required by applicable local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International Users

VizLearn is operated from and data may be processed in jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws from your jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards for international transfers.

We may revise this privacy policy as VizLearn evolves. The most current version will always be available on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
